Answer

I have decided that the feasibility study cannot be released at this stage as the material forms part of an ongoing policy development process and includes potentially commercially sensitive details. Releasing it now could lead to misunderstanding and compromise the integrity of the required decision-making and procurement for the project.

I can advise you that the feasibility study has contributed into an initial Strategic Outline Case for the project. I have previously allocated funding, this financial year, that has enabled priority tasks to progress, including more detailed technical work on the proposed connection to Belfast International Airport, engagement with planning authorities, signalling and electrification development and assessment of the user worked crossings along the route.
