Answer
The Energy Strategy: The Path to Net Zero Energy is an Executive‑wide strategy. Delivery of the £2 billion low carbon and renewable energy economy target depends on coordinated action across government, regulators, local authorities, industry and the wider public sector.
Within this collective framework, my Department has taken a leading role in creating the conditions for growth in the low‑carbon economy.
For example, my Department has directly supported economic growth through measures such as the £40 million Energy Resource and Efficiency Programme for business, the Industrial Decarbonisation for Northern Ireland initiative, and the publication of the Green Skills Action Plan to ensure the workforce is equipped for emerging opportunities.
