Answer

Since the Scheme opened in August 2021, more than 12,000 applications have been submitted with almost £124 million paid to eligible applicants, offering meaningful recognition of the harm they have suffered.

The Victims’ Payments Board have distributed Information kits to a range of stakeholders, political representatives, and welfare organisations across the UK and further afield, to advertise the Scheme and encourage applications from any victims that may be eligible to apply ahead of the closing date for applications on 30 August 2026.

A number of press releases have been circulated recently to media outlets across the UK and Ireland, with more to follow.

With the Scheme now in its final year, we would encourage people to apply.

Details of groups providing support for applications are available on the Victims Payments Board website.
