Answer
Investment decisions are a matter for the Northern Ireland Local Government Officers’ Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC), which operates as an arm’s‑length body and must act in the best financial interests of scheme members. While NILGOSC has discretion to invest in infrastructure or housing, including social housing, it is not required to do so. NILGOSC currently invests in infrastructure and residential property through pooled funds, none of which include residential assets in Northern Ireland.
