Answer
We met with the Board of the Maze/Long Kesh Development Corporation (MLKDC) on 10 July 2024 and the Board met the TEO Permanent Secretary in September 2024 and in February 2025. We have since received advice from officials on the options for the Board and on the immediate priorities for the site.
We have also had correspondence from MLKDC in respect of the Investment Strategy.
Advice on the options is under consideration, but no decisions have been made yet on the future of the site.
Ministers recognise the immense economic, historical and reconciliation potential of the site and remain committed to working with the Board to maximise the potential of the site for the benefit of all.
